Women love to shop on Black Friday

I am not one of those women.

I suspect I may have a touch of proximity disease. When too many people violate my personal space bubble at any given moment I freak out and start snapping like a turtle. But if I do bend to peer pressure and venture out that day, please don’t smack me at The Gap and rip a sweater out of my hands.

For the real women who enjoy this type of thing, here is some news for y’all. Happy shopping!

I am not one, either. There is something about a mob of people that just takes away from the spirit of the Holidays. All that excitement for stuff?

You are so right. I was excited about presents when I was a kid, but it’s always been the sights and sounds and smells and textures, along side the general good will toward your fellow man that has made Christmas so special for me.

I think sometimes people just like to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Getting excited about Black Friday makes them feel connected to other people. Funny when Christmas is really about sometime much bigger than ourselves, and it can’t be bought in a store.

I’m not one of those women either.
    1. I don’t like to get up that early.
    2. I don’t like the crowds either.
    3. I never seem to find the ‘deals’ others do.
    4. I live in podunk-tiny-town America, so I have to travel to get to any of those stores.

You know, I’ve never actually shopped on Black Friday…for the same reasons you mentioned. I don’t like huge crowds and people tend to be rude…I like to do most of my shopping online to avoid all that!! That picture you posted gave me the heebie-geebies!! Too many people!!!

BTW, I meant to e-mail you about the rotisserie cooker but now that I’m here commenting…it’s really just an appliance where you can throw a whole chicken (or ribs, game hens, whatever) in on a spit and it cooks it rotisserie-style. Kinda like the whole chickens you buy at Costco or at the grocery store’s deli. And on the pregnancy question….no way!!! With my luck, I’d end up with triplets this time around (that’s why I had my tubes tied!!)

Ah consumerism! Personally…I hate Black Friday and make it a goal to be DONE with any and all christmas shopping before BF, so I can actually breathe and ENJOY the holiday season, not be wrapped up in the wrap up.

Luckily Black Friday is not THAT crowded here but this year I will actually not be heading out as I’m making myself shop while others are working/at school or make as many things possible. :-)

Oh, I know what you mean. I absolutely hate shopping, which is weird because I’m such a city-girl at heart, but I think we should have a Black Friday blog party together while all the crazy people go shopping!
